This is quite possibly the best eatery in the area -
I don't know if the previous peple have been to a different pub either that or they run pubs locally and are jelous of the outstanding trade Jacqui and Ian at the Hare are doing ....
but i eat here twice a month and it's amazing !! and no i'm not related to them.... !
They buy there meat from the same place as Gordon Ramsay and had an amazing review from Helen Peacock (a renowned food critic who ate there unnanounced and rated it as fantastic...
There atmosphere is amazing and electric - even nipping in for a drink you find yourself surrounded by friendly open locals and the hostess with the mostess Jacqui...

First time and the last we will eat here. Food cooked on the outside and raw in the middle. Even my tomato was cooked on the outside and cold in the middle as were the mushrooms. Feel there must have been a few that have had food poisoning from eating here.
Seems that the cooking is rushed which may have been more understandable if the place had been busy. Final insult?? Bread and margarine! Best avoided until standards improve.

Great food and plenty of it at very reasonable prices. Friendly atmosphere and excellent service. I have been coming to this pub for years and have never been disappointed.

First time having a meal and the last. At the price it was being charged at, I hoped it would have been better. I opted for the steak, tasted burnt on the outside, the vegetables were too hard and bland. The saying quality and not quantity applies here. There were extras on the plate, 3 of which I hate, this was not noted on the menu. The brown sauce was the tastiest thing here, unfortunately. The fact that I was asked 4 times if everything was ok, irritated me also. Perhaps they should question the chef's abilities here. Whoever posted the last comment must surely be related, none of it was true. Will not be returning.
